Crystal Francis is an accomplished broadcaster and enjoys volunteering her time as a fashion model for worthy causes. She has a passion for advancing positive social change in Baltimore.
Crystal loves being in front of the camera. She uses her broadcasting skills and podcast platform to educate her peers about everything from the political process to how to maintain a healthy relationship.
Crystal understands the new socially driven media landscape. She has a knack for creating buzzworthy web-based talk show segments and digital and social media content on tomorrow’s top story.
Crystal is the creator, executive producer, and host of her talk show ‘Let’s Make This Crystal Clear’ that airs on Comcast Public Access TV. Her radio show ‘Love & War’ broadcasts on PostivePower21.org and Spreaker.com. Crystal is the creator, writer, and editor of “In the Loop” a partisan newsletter produced for the Baltimore County Democratic Party. She is also the creator, executive producer, and host for “What to Do When…”, a digital media series produced for the Positive Change Foundation that focuses on conflict resolution and other non-violence topics.
Crystal is often called upon to appear as a host for variety talk show segments. She was a reoccurring guest host on Comcast Public TV's show “The Y Factor”, WOLB Radio 1010AM’s show “Shop Talk with Cassandra Renee” and WPB Network's show “The Styles Chronicles”.
As a speaker, Crystal has moderated many live events, conferences, and meetings. She has hosted platforms for OWN Network’s talk show host Paul Carrick Brunson (It’s Complicated Book Signing Tour-Baltimore). She has hosted seminars and battle of the sexes series for The Greater Baltimore Urban League, the Black Affairs Advisory Council, Single Ladies in Red, Morgan State University, Gifted Girls, B’More Progressive, OneVoice, Black Women for Positive Change, Royalty Refined, and The Charm City Cypher.
She was a featured talent in fashion events such as BET’s My Black is Beautiful, Style to the Aisle, Baltimore Fashion Week, House of Ruth Labor Day Fashion Benefit, and Young Democrats of Maryland Women’s Caucus’ Divas & Desserts Fashion Show.
She has secured lead and supporting roles as an actor in hit stage plays such as My First Love, Where Can A Good Man Find A Good Women, Somethings Gotta Give, Boi Pull Your Pants Up, and It Don’t Hurt Now. She was the female lead in independent feature films such as Daddy’s Girl and Dark and Lovely. Crystal has also acted in TV drama series such as For My Man and Veep.
Crystal' s innovation and passion for communication and grassroots media earned her national recognition. Star Jones (President) conferred Crystal as the National Association of Professional Women's 2016 Woman of the Year. She has received numerous awards and recognition from prominent leaders in Baltimore.
In 2014, Crystal received the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Vital Magazine (Baltimore, MD). In 2015, she received the Young Democrats of America Woman's Caucus' Rising Star Award. Crystal received the 2016 Public Service Award from NextGen in recognition of her leadership contributions to the federal government and public at large.
Crystal recently worked with the Positive Change Foundation and Black Woman for Positive Change Organization to lead the International Week of Non-Violence efforts in Baltimore, Maryland.
She earned a Ph.D. in Public Policy & Administration at Walden University.
